BACKGROUND
DrLambda.AI aims to make your personal knowledge library and create high quality presentation experiences for you from multiple sources(PDF, Google doc, notion, webpages, etc). DrLambda AI is an artificial intelligence-driven platform that simplifies and enhances the process of creating professional slides and content.
OBJECTIVES
Our objective is to empower users to personalize slide templates according to their preferences and share their creations within the community. We aim to align user mental models with the design process for slide templates.

01 | OVERVIEW
1.1 | CHALLENGE
Despite the richness of AI-generated text content, the current slide creation feature lacks sophistication. Even with three available templates, users have limited options for visually enhancing their slides.

Slide Customization
Manual - It offers users with a tool bar consist of various functions such as image, text, auto lay out and so on.
AI Suggestion - Except for the basic manual customization, AI plays an important role in this phase, by providing suggestions and making adjustments based on users’ needs.

2.1 | USER INTERVIEW
New users struggle to create visually appealing slides.
To better understand how to create high quality presentation experience for users, we send out surveys and received 23 valid answers. To understand how might we help adapts to each user’s customization needs, we selected and conducted 10 semi-structured interviews of participants ranging between the ages of 20-45.
“I want something that simplifies the design process, that's smart and intuitive — yet still gives me the freedom to create something that's high-quality and truly mine.”
“It would be helpful for generating initial outlines or suggesting layouts that match the content.”
“I desire more customization for layout, design, and content hierarchy.”
Notes from the interviews were analyzed using affinity mapping and helped breathe life into our personas.

Who are we designing for? Understand the users and market trends in slide creation. By creating this detailed and relatable persona and journey map from our interviews and insights, we were able to humanize collected data and analytics, making it easier to empathize with users. This empathy drives more user-centered design and development.

03 | DESIGN & IDEATE
3.1 | BRAINSTORM
We brainstormed several ideas and put them into the metrics to evaluate their feasibility. Finally, we landed on four ideas.
3.2 | USER FLOW
We wanted to enhance the functionality of ai by redesigning the user flow through templates and slideshows, and at the same time increase the efficiency of decision making. Based on the four ideas, we changed the slide creation user flow and split into two sub flows:
template generation & slide customization.
3.3 | WIREFRAME
User testing was conducted on the first round of wireframes by asking the user to interact with the screens on Figma.
3.4 | Final Design
The slide template feature in Dr.Lambda.AI leverages AI to provide personalized, efficient, and intuitive customization options. Our solution of three features and a bonus feature integrates artificial intelligence with user-centric design principles.

Smart Template Library with user preferences and categorization
Users can select an existing template as their presentation creation starting point. Templates with users most frequently used styles are displayed at the top. Templates are currently provided by Dr.Lambda AI database and will expand to community templates in the future.

Smart Template Generation uses AI-assisted content iteration and creation
Users can now dialogue with the smart template generation chatbot so that the final output aligns with their unique presentation goals and personal style. The dialogue generation creates the foundation of presentations that can be further edited minutely.

Fine-tune customization options with AI suggestions and generation
This feature uses AI to analyze the user's content to suggest customization options. It includes dynamic suggestions, visual style profiling, and a personalized quick-access toolbar for a tailored starting point and efficient access to tools.

Language UI Editor and Reviewer can further enhance ease of creation and productivity
Users can now enter language prompts to the chatbot for specific and overall customizations. The chatbot also helps the user to review the entire slides for readability, layout, and interactive elements for audience engagement.

Collaboration and Community Involvement
There's an apparent value seen in community interaction and sharing. Creating a community-driven platform within Dr.Lambda.AI where users can share, rate, or discuss templates and customization options could foster a collaborative environment, leading to a richer template and design repository.
4.2 | WHAT’S NEXT
The importance of balancing personalization with usability.
While AI integration can significantly enhance user experience by offering tailored suggestions and automating repetitive tasks, we need to ensure that the system remains intuitive and user-friendly.
Additionally, continuously gathering user feedback and iterating on the design is essential to refine the AI algorithms and improve the overall user experience, ensuring the feature remains aligned with users' evolving needs and preferences.
