Hi! I’m Kathy, a human-centered UX Designer.

My Design Journey - connecting the dots

I started my design journey in architecture. With the thought of expanding the accessibility of design to the regional level, after college, I went to Washington University in St. Louis, studying architecture and urban design. Now, as a soon to be graduate of San Francisco Bay University’s MSCS, I explore product design and emerging technology to make the design more inclusive and globally beneficial towards the future.

When I retrospected on the detoured path, I surprisingly found that I was constantly applying the human-centered mindset in my work at different scales and scenarios. The skillsets I got trained throughout this journey cover various areas related to UX design, shaping me into a more well-rounded designer.

As a designer, I worked with people, empathizing with users

I applied user-first mentality throughout my design journey, whether that be conducting design research to understand users or inviting users to co-design. I worked with cross-functional partners, presenting to convey ideas and convince audiences. Understanding and communicating made me an empathetic and collaborative product designer.

The other side of my work.

When I’m not designing with a pen or mouse, I am capturing the world around me with my camera. I am also a photographer, more specifically, a wedding photographer. If you are interested in how I capture the beauty and emotions of a wedding date, please check out my photography website here. As the name suggests - moments matter.
